Este poeta y músico afro-americano nació en Washington DC, 1906. Vivió en carne y hueso el renacimiento en Harlem, NYC. Escribió el poema "No Images" a los 18, con el cual ganó dos premios literarios. Y lo conocí gracias a la bella, poderosa interpretación de Nina Simone.
